Reverie’s Story
Reverie was born out of an enduring friendship between two women, Sophie Breyer and Ellie Kim, who, despite living miles apart, stayed connected through handwritten letters and occasional reunions in different cities. One visit, Ellie surprised them both by enrolling them in a candle-making workshop during one of their rare get-togethers, sparking a shared passion. Drawing inspiration from their shared memories, the duo began crafting personalized candles that soon captivated the attention of friends and family. What began as a heartfelt exchange between two friends has now evolved into Reverie, a custom candle boutique dedicated to kindling connections and preserving cherished moments through the art of gift-giving and remembrance.

Moodboard
I researched and curated a moodboard that visually captures Reverie's brand personality profile, product offering, target customer and brand story.
The result of this research was a clear map of visual elements, including: earth / jewel tones, paper textures, hints of hand-drawn illustrations, place-based symbols, and simple typography.
Logo Exploration
Using the mood board as an aesthetic guide, I conducted an in-depth exploration of logo marks. I found myself exploring symbols such as flames, wisps, infinity, postage stamps, wicks, mail, spaces, homes/houses, windows, portals, doors, and clouds.
Ultimately, I decided that the most suitable identifier for Reverie would be a cloud symbol that extends from and encases a wick-like form, and continues looping infinitely. This visual represents Reverie's product offering and experience, calling to mind the burning of a candle and the long-lasting nature of memories.
